Esca B. Triplett
Esca B. Triplett, daughter of William Edward "Ed" and Minnie Lee Schuette Sutherland, was born April 7, 1942, near Norwood, Mo. She departed this life Sunday Oct. 31, 1999, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, from injuries received in an automobile accident, at the age of 57 years, 6 months, and 24 days.
She was preceeded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon, of the home; a daughter, Teresa Davis, and her husband, Rick, Conway; a son, Phil Triplett, and his wife, Missy, Springfield; four grandchildren, Kara and Jared Davis, and Samantha and Cross Triplett; her mother, Minnie Sutherland, Mountain Grove; two brothers, Wayne Sutherland, and his wife Frances, Mountain Grove, and Tommy Sutherland, and his wife Barbara, Branson; two sisters, Anita Krewson,and her husband, Don, Licking, and Mary Lorett, Springfield; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Douglas County. After she and Vernon were married, they made their home on their farm in the Phillipsburg area and lovingly raised their children. She owned and operated Esca's Flower Patch in Conway for several years, and was employed in the floral department of Consumer's Market for 14 years. She had been manager of the floral department for the last 11 years, continuing with the change to Danny's IGA.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and had attended the Lee's Summit and Niangua Churches of Christ for many years.
She centered her life around her family, and especially enjoyed doing things with and for her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembred and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 4, 1999, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, with Ron Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Phillipsburg.
