Joseph Clinton Barnett

Joseph Clinton Barnett, 40, Denver, Colo., a former Joplin resident, was found dead in a car Sunday afternoon on a mountain road near Golden, Colo.

Cause of death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mr. Barnett was born Oct. 24, 1942, in St. Louis, and resided in Joplin most of his life. He was a bookkeeper, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of Blendville Christian Church of Joplin.

Surviving are a son, Michael Barnett, St. Albans, W. Va.; a daughter, Miss Diana Lynn Barnett, St. Albans, W. Va.; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kirkman, Fort Scott, Kan.; two half sisters, Mrs. Nyla Ogle, Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Paula Howard, Arcadia, Kan.; and a grandmother, Mrs. Edna Kirman, 4201 Pennsylvania Ave., Joplin.

The body was cremated.

Arrangements were made through Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
