Carolyn Jo Tabor of Barstow, CA, died November 17, 1991, in Loma Linda University Medical Center at Loma Linda, CA, where she had been a patient for 12 days.
Carolyn was born in Mountain Grove, MO, June 17, 1932. She grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from high school there in 1950. She earned her BS degree at Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, MO in 1954 and her MS degree at Kansas City College in Pittsburg, KS in 1960.
After her graduation from SMS she taught physical education in Mountain Grove School for two years. She then went to Pittsburg, KS, where she had accepted a position at Kansas State College as an instructor in the Education Psychology Dept. and supervisor of student teachers in the Girls Physical Education Dept. for five years. She moved to Barstow, CA in 1962 where she accepted a position with Barstow community College as an instructor in Psychology and Sociology and a counselor. A position she held until the time of her death. She had planned to retire in June, 1992.
Carolyn was a member of the United Methodist Church. Private memorial services were held in Barstow, CA. The body was cremated. She is survived by her mother, Lois Tabor, Mountain Grove, her father, C.L. Tabor, Springfield, MO and other relatives.
